Today I want to talk about habits.

Those who have tried to break a bad habit know just how hard it can be. Much of the time you are unaware that you are doing the very thing you are trying to stop, because you carry on subconsciously.

And that is why you need to form good habits, so that your positive actions will continue automatically, almost without you thinking about it.

The good news is that forming a habit can be as easy as repeating an action as few as 21 times. That is once a day for only 3 weeks.

Carry out your new ‘good habit’ just once a day, for less than a month and it will become second nature. If you have a goal to get a little fitter, and this translates into 15 - 20 minutes of walking, or yoga, or some other exercise a day, make a point of setting aside a regular slot of 20 minutes each day for the next three weeks.

First you may find it hard to find the time, but soon, and usually within those first 21 days, it will become stranger if you don’t find that 20 minutes. And then you know you have formed that good habit, and are well on your way to achieving your goal.

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.
